As the ideological divides of the United States are further exposed, some would suggest that we’re teetering on the edge of a Civil War. Others are already experiencing what President Biden referred to in his inaugural address as an “Uncivil” War. Whether concern over the potential of an armed battle or a struggle to have hard conversations with those we love, we all feel the tension. In this 2-part webinar series, our hope is to offer historical and theological perspective that leads to tangible peacemaking tools for ending this “Uncivil” War.

Perspectives From Within a Civil War & Their Implications for Everyday Peacemakers

In this webinar, we will learn from Chaden Hani, a Lebanese peacemaker who will offer perspectives from within post-civil war Lebanon. Also joining us will be leading Christian ethicist, Dr. David Gushee, who will help us learn how to integrate our faith within civic society in helpful, hopeful, and healing ways. You will come away from this webinar with tools for understanding the narratives that drive the words and actions of your political “other.” You will walk away with practices that can shape your engagement within our polarized society.
