A Day of Solidarity Photo Journey

A Day of Solidarity Photo Journey

On December 15th, 2019, a group of over 150 women and men from every corner of the U.S. crossed an international border to listen to and learn from Tijuanan peacemakers, traumatized Central American asylum seekers and undocumented Haitian migrants.

In reflection on our day together, one participant said, “I am so grateful for a day of learning about the current migration crisis, and especially in awe and appreciative of the local Tijuanan leadership for guiding our experience. The day left me better educated about the current migrant situation and equipped to take tangible action, while also understanding the long game with regard to the immigration issue at large.”

It was a good day…and…with 10,000 Central Americans currently in Tijuana and 150 U.S. Americans now awakened to the work of restorative, bi-national solidarity, our work has only just begun.

Thank you Courtney Christenson (photo) and Geneva Garcia (video) for capturing the day.
