John Paul Lederach is one of our academic guides and mentors from afar in the discipline of peacemaking. As one of the leading scholars and practitioners in the field, we hold him and his work in the highest esteem.
Which is why you can imagine how honored we were when he asked us (Jer and Jon) to be contributing authors to his newest book, Reconcile: Conflict Transformation for Ordinary Christians. Because John Paul deeply values our work in mobilizing people for the very tangible practices of everyday peacemaking, he thought there was no one more equipped to write to both the book’s Study Guide and a resource on Understanding Global Conflict. The book is now available, which includes both the Study Guide and Resource we contributed.
Our friends, Bill and Lynne Hybels, wrote the Forward and Bill mentioned the book twice at the recent Global Leadership Summit. What an honor to contribute alongside all of these incredible people on a work that has so much potential to mobilize the Church as an instrument of peace!
Here is an endorsement John Paul Lederach gave The Global Immersion Project:
“Our world needs people with vision and practical skills with the courage to engage the difficult conflicts and divisions we face in so many places where people are suffering. The Global Immersion Project provides such courage, vision and skill. Take a day. Take a week. I guarantee their support, ideas and approaches will change your sense of christian vocation and commitment to peacebuilding — from an interesting and ideal vision to concrete ways you can make a difference in the world.” – John Paul Lederach
